openLCA.conf 2026 – a recap!

22-23 April 2026 | Berlin, Germany

For the third edition of openLCA.conf we welcomed back 167 experts from across the fields of LCA and sustainability for two days of lectures, workshops and discussions on LCA research and practice. Check out conference proceedings here: https://zenodo.org/records/19595784. 

Particular highlights were keynotes from Nicola Ferrara (Joint Research Centre) and Andreas Ciroth (GreenDelta GmbH), technical sessions on database and LCI dataset creation, social LCA as well as the application of system dynamics into LCA.

This year we also introduced interactive “challenge sessions”, inviting participants to work together to begin to address some of the biggest challenges facing the field, from making LCA business-relevant to addressing the modelling of biogenic carbon in LCA and adoption of LCA in the global south.

We also found time to relax and enjoy the spring weather in Berlin, both our conference dinner at Hallesches Haus (complete with live techno music) and our apero at ufaFabrik were a big success!
